What does that mean? I’m not sure exactly but it sounds badass, doesn’t it? But I don’t come to you with nonsensical, overly-technical phrases without reason. If you’re a Triple Helix listener then you may have wondered where the new music has been in the last several years.

We had to take an unexpected hiatus due to circumstances beyond our control. We won’t bother you with the details. But what we WILL bother you with is more music from The Blocks, which is already in preparation and will be ear drum ready before you know it. Scouts honor.

We got so much to do these days. It’s amazing how this whole music thing ebbs and flows.

But we’re about our business though. Got two releases coming up this fall, including the anticipated Vox Merger project. I think y’all will be pleased with the outcome after such a significant wait. We took it back to the drawing board a few times, but it’s finally ready to go.

While we’re on the topic of business…we couldn’t help but notice a few folks out there in the music sphere using the term “Illamental”. Well, aside from the fact that I’ve had a grasp on the word Illamental since maybe 96-97, to quote The Stones, “it’s all over now”.

We’ve trademarked the term. We are Illamental. Adjust yourselves accordingly…

Anthony “Akim” Kim is currently a full time law school student who also happens to be one half of the independent hip hop duo Vox Merger.

Born to a Korean father and Filipino mother, this Southern California born and raised MC is relatively new to the hip hop industry but has already worked with many well known Asian American artists and producers such as the Far East Movement, Chan, Bambu and Illmind.

I’m sure I speak for the Illamental fam when I say that we have lost an inspiration and a giant that will never be replaced or surpassed. Every musician looks up to you Michael. You are the pinnacle. You are the legend.

I’m sure I speak for my father, mother, sister, and brother when I say we have lost a member of our family. I can’t explain how much the music of you and your family was a part of our lives. The Jacksons are in our blood. Your music will live but it still hurts to lose you.

I don’t know how we can continue with you gone. The world will miss you endlessly.
