YOOOOOOO! No lie this is one of my favorite video openings of all time. King Tee being brought to the ‘West Coast Crucible” to plead his case for his alleged sell-out attempt!
Where the hell is Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E. these days? With Cube doing family movies and Ice-T playing five-oh, I fear the Tribe is selling cleaning products via infomercials??
BOO-YAA those stains out with the Boo-Yaa Brush!
Say it ain’t so!
I take trips through Youtube on the regular watching some of my favorite videos from when I was a youngster. For all you old schoolers, enjoy this blast from the past. For you young cats… that’s not a seizure King Tee goes into halfway through the video…. it’s called “the running man.”
Man….. I had no idea that it had gotten to this level.
Over the last few weeks I been catching up on all of the “tube beef” videos from the ‘08. I only sporadically stay in the loop with the music industry as a whole, much less all of the gossip and drama that is within the hip-hop/rap universe. But I sheepishly admit that I THOROUGHLY enjoyed watching all of the shit that’s been going on.
I have officially ended the holiday season with my traditional “1 day post-Christmas hibernation,” where I spend the 26th in the house, sleeping and/or playing video games. So I know that it’s finally done with.
Every year, when December 25th comes to an end, I feel like Frodo Baggins when the One Ring finally fell into the fires of Mount Doom. Christmas time drains the hell outta me.
Hopefully you all had a nice holiday. We did as well. But I for one am glad it’s over with. Looking forward to getting back into the studio and getting this ‘09 shiznit underway.
We keep it mad hood with the Hen dogg and Shasta cola!
Just recently, we were able to finish up all primary vocals for the upcoming album by The Vox Merger. Many late nights and early mornings at our spot, which we have unofficially dubbed “The Rock Next Door,” have begun to bear fruit. And if I do say so myself (and I do), I think you’ll all like the style of hip hop that hear from the fellas. Even with the pressed time and sometimes limited resources, they’ve been hitting their milestones and are finally starting to see some daylight as far as a release date is concerned (which I’m sure will be announced soon as well).
Unlike the rest of the performers, Bamm was lined up because he thought Todd was handing out free porn.
The Illamental fellas were at it again. Running around Los Angeles on some guerrilla ish to get another video in the can (we don’t need no stinkin’ permits!). And with one eye open for five-oh, and the other watching for the local crackhead with a penchant for selling video equipment, the video shoot for “Reasons” by The Vox Merger went off without a hitch.
After our last show in 2007, we (Helix) said we were gonna take a hiatus from “touring” and stay close to home to focus on Vox Merger & other music, as well as get some of our ducks in a row. And while we were successful at that, I think I’m starting to crave rocking the mic again.
Oh yes indeedy. New newness from some of the west coast boys that are just too foolish to quit! Check out the newly leaked video by The Vox Merger for their joint “Reasons.” Special cameo appearances by some of those other Illamental suckas. Directed by the oh so talented Todd Angkasuwan. Catered by the local pizza & booze locales. Enjoy!
